Despite the fact that the beach is situated quite far from Newquay and you will have to drive 4 miles to get there, such remote location has some great benefits. For example, you will never see this beach crowded, so you can always enjoy everything it can offer, starting from soft golden sands sheltered by high cliffs to each side to tidal pools with a lot of marine life to explore.

Just note that the best time to visit Mawgan Porth beach is during a low tide, as it opens ample sand for everyone, even on the busiest of days. Duckpool beach – Bude

High tides almost swallow the sand and rocks, making it look like a stretch of pebbles. Just note that swimming here is not recommended as it is generally unsafe, especially at low tide. Also, note that beautiful and dramatic cliffs that surround the beach can be quite hazardous as there are frequent rock falls. Still, Duckpool beach is considered to be one of the most beautiful beaches in the area and one of those dog-friendly ones.

Crooklets beach – Bude

Crooklets beach is one more popular surf spot near Bude. There is the Bude Surf Life Saving Club right on the beach whose members learn and teach surf life-saving techniques, patrol local beaches providing extra safety cover and inform the public about beach safety.

What is more, the beach is a great place to spend time with kids as there are numerous rock pools exposed at low tide with a lot of marine life to discover. Also, the beach has all facilities you can expect, including a large car park, level access and viewing area, a play area, skate park, beach cafe, showers, amusements and pubs close by.  It is also possible to rent one of the beautiful beach huts.
